Lawsuit Filed Against Rahul Gandhi and PM Modi Over Remarks on Adani Group

Surjit Singh Yadav, a self-identified farmer and stock investor, has filed a lawsuit in a Delhi court seeking a permanent injunction against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The lawsuit concerns their statements about the Adani group and its promoter Gautam Adani.
Yadav's suit requests the court to prevent Gandhi and Modi from making what he describes as false, fabricated, and misleading statements about the Adani group. He argues that these allegations, made without any basis, lead to unexpected fluctuations in the stock prices of Adani companies, causing significant losses to investors, including himself.

According to Yadav, he encountered news on channels and social media where Rahul Gandhi claimed the Centre waived loans worth Rs 16 lakh crore for certain industrialists, including Gautam Adani. Yadav's plea describes Gandhi's speech as misleading and intended to tarnish the Adani group's reputation among the public and investors.

The suit alleges that negative statements from political leaders cause stock market instability and substantial financial losses for investors. Yadav claims that no such loan waivers occurred and the news was false and misleading.

The plea also mentions a speech by PM Narendra Modi in Karim Nagar, Telangana, where similar allegations were made. Yadav seeks a court order to stop political leaders from making unsubstantiated claims.
